September, 2013 Leading Professors Visited SSS Lab.

From July to September 2013, world famous professors visited SSS Lab. to give seminars and discuss about the potential collaborations. On 3rd July, Prof. Norman Wereley (University of Maryland) – the leading researcher on vibration control visited the Lab. On 30th August, Prof. Ephrahim Garcia from Cornell University visited and had a seminar on title “Harnessing unsteady aerodynamics for flapping UAVs and energy harvesting”. On 2nd September, Prof. Ron Barrett-Gonzalez from University of Kansas gave a seminar on title “Advanced topics in adaptive materials: reverse-bias configuration and negative lift-curves”. Meeting the world leading professors is a good chance for the Lab. members to explore their knowledge on the research problems.

January, 2013 SSS lab trip to High1 Resort, Kangwon

SSS lab members had a trip to High1 Resort, Kangwon to participate in ISNIT 2013 (Int. Symposium on Nature Inspired Technology). Two of the lab members Jun-Seong Lee and Dong-Kyu Lee presented their paper entitled “Wing Kinematics Optimization of Insects using Multi-objective Evolutionary Algorithm” and “Experimental Study on Passive Stability of Flapping Wing Physical Model under Magnetically Levitated Environment” respectively. Apart from that, Prof. Han got a plaque of appreciaton for organizing the last ISNIT 2012.
