November, 2012 SSS Lab trip to Jeju Island for APISAT/KSAS Conference

From November 14~16, SSS lab member visited Jeju Island for attending APISAT and KSAS Conference. Dae-Oen Lee presented a paper on APISAT while Joongkwan Kim, Dong-Kyu Lee, Jaewon Park, Juho Lee and Marshal Deep Kafle presented their work on KSAS Conference. Apart from the conference, the members visited around some Jeju’s famous place enjoying some delish cuisine.

October, 2012 Professor attended ICAST in Nanjing, China

Professor Han attended the 23rd International Conference on Adaptive Structures and Technologies (ICAST) which was held in Nanjing from 11~13th of October. He presented a paper entitled “Frequency Tune of Isolator using SMA Wire Actuator”. Here are some pictures of him taken during the conference with some other reputed professor. September 2012, SSS Lab hiking to Gyeryongsan

SSS Lab along with ISVC Lab had a splendid fun day this september wherein the members of the SSS and ISVC Lab. went on hiking to Mt. Gyeryong. Gyeryongsan has about 15 valleys in between its 20 peaks around the summit Cheonhwangbong(845m). As the season was favourable for hiking, all the members actively participated to cover the 7km mountain trail which took about 4 hrs. It is a great place to visit taking a break from busy schedule.

June 2012, Research Awards for Kim, Hong-Il and Park, Jae-Won

Kim, Hong-Il and Park, Jae-Won, who graduated with Doctoral and Masters degrees respectively in February, 2012 have been awarded the Excellence Award for their outstanding performance by the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Systems Engineering, KAIST. We would like to congratulate Kim, Hong-Il and Park, Jae-Won for their award. We are all proud to have our SSS lab. members receive such an award.

March, SSS Lab. at SPIE Smart Structures/NDE 2012

Prof. Han and Dae-Oen Lee have attended SPIE Smart Structures/NDE 2012 held in San Diego, California, USA on March 11-15, 2012. In the conference Dae-Oen Lee presented research titled “Integrated Framework for Jitter Analysis Combining Disturbance, Structure, Vibration Isolator and Optical Model.”
